English Language B

Examining Board – AQA

Subject Content

In English Language, you will have the opportunity to widen your field of study from GCSE English, to include the spoken word. In your studies, you will look at a variety of texts and how they may be grouped together, the development of the language over time and children's language acquisition. You will also have had an opportunity to write for different audiences and purposes and study a field of the English language in which you are particularly interested.

Methods of Study

The teaching strategies include discussion (whole group, small group and pairs), mind-mapping, annotation of handouts, videos and audio tapes, presentations and written activities. There is considerable reliance on independent study in the coursework modules.
