Economics

Examining board: AQA

AS/A2 Economics is an exciting, challenging course which covers all aspects of  the economy.  Economics is the study of what determines living standards.  It is divided into two parts, Macroeconomics and Microeconomics.  Macroeconomics studies the economy as a whole, whereas Microeconomics concentrates on individual markets.  The course has been designed to allow the integration of economic themes, such as market failure, government intervention, inflation and unemployment and the European Union.  This Economic course provides a smooth transition from GCSE Economics, although this is not essential for studying AS Economics.
