Sheffield is the city for the under-graduate. It’s a paradise of students and home to two of the most popular universities in the north of England. The city hosts a vibrant student culture, with an excess of 6,000 students actually taking residence within it during their course. In fact, a high percentage of these students end up staying in Sheffield after they graduate which is testament to how truly captivating and enthralling the bustling city is.
The University of Hallam itself is situated in the heart of the city with a charming campus. The layout of the University – while being relatively enclosed and comfortable – installs a sense of freedom, as if you are truly breathing in the city life. Obviously there are imperfections in the landscape, as there are with all cities; building work is ever-present as the city is forever-developing and quite visible from the campus, but rather than ruining the mood of the place, it adds to it.
The university is focused and dedicated to the safety and comfort of the students. A range of accommodation is provided and all within walking distance of the campus. Support is readily available and encouraged and the staff and students on duty during the open day were all helpful and diligent, wishing to create the right impression of their beloved campus. Sheffield Hallam is a recommendation for anyone - a top class university.
