I visited the open day at Lancaster University in September with high hopes. Just by reading through the prospectus and pouring over the website, I already thought that this was the university I wanted to go to. Not only was the course perfectly suited to the career I have in mind, but the description of the town and campus itself sounded fantastic. So therefore as we approached Lancaster, I was thrilled to see that what had been written by students was true! On arrival, we were escorted from well organised parking facilities to the Main Hall, in which there were stands explaining about all the different types of courses. The day was extremely well organised and there were a lot of people willing to help with any enquiries. There were also various lectures in the main hall, which were beneficial to both parents and students, as they covered every issue from finance to Sex Drugs and Rock and Roll.
I feel that the day was extremely useful, however, I discovered that if you want an ‘out of city’ university experience Lancaster would be ideal for you, as Lancaster is only a small town. I advise you visit the University before you make your final application. But on a high note, I feel that Lancaster University is perfect for me and can safely say, I will be applying!
